Cheap DJ KitWhen you go for a DJ kit for the first time you must be aware of what exactly you want. First decide what articles you require. Then look for reducing the cost as much as possible. The basic requirements of a DJ kit are two turn tables with pitch control knobs, a pair of headphones, an amplifier and speakers and mixer with two channels and cross fader. While considering buying turn tables the direct drive turn table is a much better choice than the belt driven one. Budget turn tables are available in both these varieties. In the belt driven turn table the platter on the deck is driven by a belt connecting the motor with the deck. On the other hand, in the direct drive turn table the platter is directly driven by the motor with help of gears. One reason for preferring a direct drive is that the rigid gears respond instantly to changes in speed. In the belt driven device the transmission depends upon the tension on the belt. The belt, being elastic takes its time to react to the speed changes. For a mixer, make sure that it has a minimum of two channels. It will help adjust volume of each turntable independently. A cross fader is a must to cut between two channels. When you go for the headphones a variety of them at vastly varying prices are available. While buying them, make sure they cover your ears completely and do not admit outside noise into your ears. When you buy amplifiers and speakers you must clearly understand the difference between the two main types. One is the hi-fi system which is very cheap. But the other one, the monitor speakers with powered amplifiers are used by the professionals. They are surely expensive. For a beginner the hi-fi system is good enough. To make the purchase of the DJ equipment cheap, there are several ways. One is to go for second hand articles for the kit. If you browse the classified advertisements you will come across some quality component at really low prices in the second hand market. Another way is to club together the resources of several beginners in DJing and buy all the components. But each item of the kit must be owned by a single person. It will facilitate the division of assets when they break up. For example, the turn tables must be owned by one person, the amplifier by another and so on. There are well known brands for every component of the DJ kit. As can be expected, they are on the higher side on the matter of prices too. For beginners it is better to go for the cheaper DJ kits and change them for better ones later. Cheap DJ kit packages are also available for about $250 at some online stores. This compares well with good quality DJ kit which costs over $3000. But before making a decision make sure that your minimum requirements are met by such offers. |
